Chromite Coating

This process is also known as Chemfilm or Alodine the chromate is gelatinous, and because the film it produces on the aluminium is fragile it should not be handled for up to 24 hours. It typically leaves a light iridescent to dark gold glint. It is commonly applied to items prior to painting to increase corrosion resistance and adhesion. Chromate conversion coatings differ from anodized coatings in that they are used to give corrosion resistance while still maintaining electrical conductivity.

Benefits of Chromite Coating

Corrosion inhibitor

Primer

Decorative finish

Retain electrical conductivity

It is etched and chromated as required  in Australian Standard AS 3715  for architectural aluminium. The Chromate conversion coating is the gold standard for aluminium corrosion protection under Powder coating.
Every part is submerged in our dip tanks to ensure all areas are protected and provides superior adhesion and powder will not lift or peel.

Eliminates the powdery areas, scratches and breaks you may have with traditional powder coating. The durability of chromate converted products is another reason they are so great, when first applied the chromate conversion is soft and gelatinous but hardens as it ages.
